The main critique we have of this place is the fact that there was a sign in the room that mentioned how bedbugs could be a problem just to take the blame away from the owners and place it with the tenants staying there. That should not be the only sign in the room, nor should it be a sign at all. If you feel bed bugs are a problem than it is the facilities job to manage that, not just to place the blame of their uncleanliness to the tenants paying money to stay there. Otherwise decent place.

I've read of a lovely vegan breakfast supplied by the hostel which i received the first day (veggies, hummus, plant milk) but this had all dissapated by the 3rd day where there was just stale bread and 2 slices of cheese for breakfast. Not even coffee. Step up your game, this could be a great hostel with a bit more effort.

A nice hostel very well done up in a quiet (but safe) area of Gdansk, only about 10 minutes walk from the old town. Quite far from the train station though which was a little inconvenient. Really nice girl working at the hostel - there all the time and very helpful. The free breakfast is small but a nice bonus. Sheets could have been cleaner - I found a lot of hairs on mine... kitchen also was a little dirty but the bathrooms were good. Capsules are nice idea. Security good throughout.
Slowgate was very nice! The owners are not around very much, which made check-in a little strange. I received a code by email and got into the hostel with the directions they had sent me. The owner(s) are usually only there in the morning for breakfast and to clean the hostel. The husband is incredibly nice, though. He was very friendly and gave me excellent tips on things to see and do in the city. The breakfast was good, and the people who stayed there were friendly. I would stay here again.
Stayed here for 1 night in early June. Very easy to get to from the main train station, just one short tram ride away and only a 5/10 minute walk from the beautiful old town. Rooms were very clean, beds super comfy, and the toilets and showers were great, although showers only separated by a thin curtain. One of the only hostels I’ve stayed at with a bath, which was lovely! The host was so friendly and offered great advice about where to go and how to get around. Would definitely recommend a trip to Sopot if you’re in the area.
Good location and awesome customer service. The hostel is about 20 minutes away walking from the old town. If you take the trolley it takes 5 minutes to the main center. They offer you breakfast for free and it is very healthy. It is a quiet and very tranquil place so you will not feel bothered

Situated a 15 minute walk out of town, the location is not too bad u2014 there are a few food joints around the corner, as well as some hidden sights. The hostel felt secure as there are different keycodes to enter the building and to enter individual rooms. I stayed both in the capsule-dorm and the regular one u2014 both are very basic (but maybe of questionable cleanliness), with the capsules being the wonkiest I've been in so far. The big breakfast table is indeed good for making new friends!
